Apple and cinnamon sponge cake recipe details
Ingredients
4 | eggs |
130 g | sugar |
100 g | flour |
2 large | Granny Smith apples |
2 tbsp | cinnamon |
1 tsp | vanilla sugar or vanilla essence |
tbsp | butter for buttering the baking dish |
Instructions
Whisk eggs with sugar and vanilla, slowly add the flour. Best result if done with blender.Peel and slice apples, toss together with cinnamon and place on bottom of baking dish. Pour over the flour egg and sugar mixture.
Bake on gas mark 7 for 20 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the sponge.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or with a little icing sugar sprinkled on top.
