Almond mutzen recipe details
Ingredients
100 g | sugar |
2 | eggs |
1 | lemon, grated peel |
5 drop(s) | almond flavour |
100 g | ground almonds |
50 g | butter |
1 tsp | baking powder |
200 g | flour |
oil for frying |
Instructions
Mix the eggs with the sugar until the mixture turns pale. Melt the butter and add with the almond flavour during mixing. Add the lemon peel and mix well. Mix flour, almonds and baking powder and add to the egg mixture, mix together until it is a light dough.Form little oval shaped drops with two spoons and put them on a baking paper, refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Heat oil to 180°C and fry the Mutzen until brown.
This is a traditional Carnival sweet from Switzerland and Germany.
