This is not your average lasagna. With 5 different cheeses mixed with seasoned meat, it will make your mouth water.

Ingredients

Serves: 12
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 med red onion
  • 1 pkg fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground sirloin
  • 1 pound mild Italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon chives
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pkg lasagna noodles (making fresh noodles are better)
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (8 ounce) pack mozzarella
  • 1 (8 ounce) pack sharp Cheddar
  • 1 (8 ounce) pkg Parmesan
  • 1 (4 ounce) pkg feta
  • 1 (16 ounce) pkg ricotta

Preparation method

Prep: 45 mins | Cook: 45 mins

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a grinder mix the garlic, onions and Mushrooms with the olive oil. Set a side
3. Cook the sirloin and sausage in a large pan until done.
4. Add the garlic, onions, and Mushroom mix to the meat. Stir and let simmer for 5 mins.
5. Add oregano, chives, basil, salt and pepper. Stir and let simmer for 5 more mins.
6. In a 9×13-inch pan layer your noodles. You will end up with 4 layers of noodles. Be sure you layer it noodle, sauce, mozzarella, cheddar, meat, parmesan, feta, and ricotta.
7. Make two layers of the above then add one more layer with all but the meat.
8. Cover in foil and
9. Bake for 30 mins. Uncover and bake for 15 more mins. This will allow you to bake in all the cheese without burning the top and still give you a crispy brown crust.
10. Cut quickly before it cools and hardens.
