Ingredients
95 g | sugar |
6 | egg yolks |
450 ml | milk |
1 | vanilla bean |
Instructions
Combine half of sugar with egg yolks and whip lightly.Place milk in sauce pan and sprinkle in remaining sugar. Do not stir. Add vanilla bean and bring to a boil. Gradually whisk boiling milk into egg yolk mixture. Heat, stirring, over boiling water. Cook until sauce coats spoon.
Delicious sauce for cakes, apple pie, apple crumble, ice cream etc. Can be served hot or cold.
