Vanilla crescents recipe details
Ingredients
225 g | unsalted butter, softened |
5 tbsp | sugar |
2 tsp | vanilla extract |
1 tbsp | water, you may need another later |
250 g | plain flour |
½ tsp | salt |
300 g | almonds or hazelnuts, finely chopped |
icing sugar, to decorate |
Instructions
Makes approximately 36.Heat oven to Gas Mark 3, 325°F, 170°C.
Cream butter and sugar in a bowl, add vanilla and water.
Mix flour and salt together and add to creamed mixture, combining thoroughly. Add nuts until and mix until thoroughly incorporated. Add a little more water if too dry.
Form walnut-sized pieces of dough into crescent shapes on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom.
Roll in icing sugar while warm. Allow to cool fully on a wire rack. Roll in more sugar when cold and store in an airtight container. the biscuits will keep for several weeks.
