Tuna chowder with spinach and cheese recipe details
Ingredients
1. White tuna in water (2pkg. about 7 ounces each)
2. chicken broth (1 1/2c)
3. flour (4tbsp)
4. diced onion (1c)
5. diced celery (1c)
6. milk (3 1/2c)
7. diced russed potatoes (1large)
8. coarsely chopped spinach (1c)
9. finely shredded mild cheddar cheese (1c)
10. salt (1tsp)
11. dried leaf thyme (1/4tsp)
12. dash ground nutmeg
13. freshly ground black pepper (1/8tsp)
14. dry sherry (1tbsp optional)
15. butter (4tbsp)
Method of preparation
1. Take a large sauce pan, place it over medium low heat. Heat butter in it and then add celery and onions in the pan and cook by stirring until the vegetables get tender.
2. Add flour and mix chicken broth in it and then add potatoes and keep to simmer until the potatoes get tender by stirring occasionally.
3. Add milk, spinach, tuna, black pepper, nutmeg, thyme, salt, and the cheese.
4. Cook it over low heat until the cheese gets melted and the spinach get wilted. Now add sherry in the pan. When it gets ready then serve it.
