Tostada de ceviche de camaron recipe details
A somewhat spicy Mexican shrimp and fish salad served on a corn tostada.
Ready in: 2 hours
Ingredients
Serves: 14- 3 pounds 30/45 fresh shelled & deveined shrimp
- 2 fresh tilapia fillets
- 3 pounds fresh key limes
- 3 pickling cucumbers
- 1 medium red onion
- 3 medium ripe tomatoes
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 3 ripe avocados
- red pepper sauce to taste
- 1 bag tostada shells
Preparation method
Prep: 2 hours1. Wash shrimp and chop into medium sized pieces. Cut fish fillets into 3/8 by 3/8 inch pieces. Juice key limes.
2. Peel, remove seeds and chop cucumbers into small pieces. Skin and chop onion into small pieces. Cut tomatoes into small pieces. Chop leaves of cilantro, discard stems.
3. Mix well in a glass or plastic container cover and refrigerate for one and a half hours.
4. 10 minutes before serving, peel and cut avocado into small pieces and mix into shrimp and fish mix. Add hot pepper sauce to taste.
