Ingredients
1 | 22 cm pie crust |
1 | red onion, chopped |
6 large | tomatoes, chopped |
5 leaves | basil |
240 g | Cheddar cheese, grated |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Preheat oven to 170°C.Frozen crust:Bake crust for about 10-20 minutes.
Homemade crust:Freeze the crust first, then line the crust with aluminum foil and bake it for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes.
Sprinkle the bottom of the cooked pie shell with chopped onion. Spread the chopped tomatoes over the onions and sprinkle the sliced basil over the tomatoes.
In a bowl, mix together the grated cheese and mayonnaise and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Spread the cheese mixture over the tomatoes.
Place in oven and bake until browned and bubbly, about 25-45 minutes.
