Tacos mexicano americanos recipe details

Ingredients
Serves: 3- 1/2 onion
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 3/4 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 (7 ounce) can stewed tomatoes drained
- 1 (2 ounce) can chopped jalapeno chilies
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 medium fresh tomato
- 2 cups shredded Romaine lettuce
- 1 avocado. peeled and mashed
- cilantro sprigs
- salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar and Jack Cheese
- 1 dozen taco shells
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 10 mins1. Coarsely chop the onion.
2. In a skillet put olive oil and warm it before adding the onion and the garlic. Cook for 4 minutes or until brown. Add the beef and cook for 4 minutes. Add stewed tomatoes, green chilies, cumin, oregano, chili powder. Turn heat to low, cover it and simmer until ready to serve.
3. Chop the fresh tomato coarsely. Put lettuce in a bowl, ready to serve.
4. Make the guacamole with avocado, chop onion, cilantro and salt. transfer it to a bowl, and leave the pit in the guacamole.
5. Have sour cream on the side as well as the cheese and taco shells. Let everybody serve by themselves.
