This salsa can be made by anyone that owns a decent knife & a cutting board. You don’t need to know a thing about cooking, just know how to chop. I’ve had just 4 people eat the entire batch, it was so good. It tastes even better the next day!
Ready in: 3 hours 30 mins
Ingredients
Makes: 4 cups- 1 Large bowl
- Colander & Chopping block
- 6-8 Ripe red tomatoes
- 1 large white onion
- 1 bunch of cilantro
- 1-2 jalapenos, depending on desired heat
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 lime
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. ground Chile powder
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 /2 tsp. kosher salt (plain is ok)
- 1-2 bags tortilla chips
Preparation method
Prep: 30 mins | Extra time: 3 hours, chilling1. Chop & add tomatoes and let drain in the colander. Add to bowl when drained.
2. Chop & add onion. Chop cilantro (remove thick end of stems). Remove seeds from jalapenos & chop. Chop/crush garlic.
3. Cut lime in half & squeeze into bowl. Add cumin, Chile powder, salt, & sugar. Mix thoroughly. Cover & place in fridge so that flavors can meld.
4. Serve with tortilla chips.
