- Ingredients – Dry Mix
- 27 cups of even parts of wheat, whole wheat, and unbleached white flours
- 6 cups powdered milk
- 4-1/2 cups sugar
- 1-1/2 cups baking powder
- 5 Tablespoons salt
- 2 Tablespoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons nutmeg
- Ingredients – Batter
- 1-1/2 cups mix
- 1-1/2 cups water
- 1 egg
- 2 Tablespoons oil
- Sunflower seeds
- Fruit
This we make ahead for a quick mix on busy mornings.
Combine all ingredients in a BIG bowl. Store in an airtight container.
Combine mix, water, egg, and oil quickly until dry ingredients are wet (don’t worry about small lumps). Add more water if necessary. Pour the batter onto a hot oiled griddle. Add sunflower seeds, berries, or whatever as the cakes set up (popped bubbles show that they are ready to flip). The seeds will toast nicely on the flip side.
