Quick Cherry Pie Filling recipe

|500 g||cherries, pitted|
|2 tbsp||lemon juice|
Place cherries, sugar, cornstarch and lemon juice in a pan and heat over medium heat. Cook until cherries begin to release their liquid. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Reduce to a simmer and heat until cherry mixture thickens. Allow to cool.
