|500 g||stale white bread|
|100 g||soft butter|
|1 tsp||lemon peel|
|2 tbsp||cocoa powder|
|dried cherries, roughly chopped|
|50 g||dried dates, pitted and chopped|
|60 g||walnuts or almonds, toasted and roughly chopped|
Soak the bread in milk for 30 minutes. Squeeze out and pluck the bread into a bowl. Add all the other ingredients and knead until well combined.
Fill the mixture into a buttered cake tin. Bake in the preheated oven at 160°C for 50-60 minutes.
