Ingredients
500 g | stale white bread |
100 g | sugar |
100 g | soft butter |
3 | eggs |
1 tsp | lemon peel |
2 tbsp | cocoa powder |
100 g | currants |
dried cherries, roughly chopped | |
50 g | dried dates, pitted and chopped |
60 g | walnuts or almonds, toasted and roughly chopped |
80 ml | brandy |
milk |
Instructions
Soak the bread in milk for 30 minutes. Squeeze out and pluck the bread into a bowl. Add all the other ingredients and knead until well combined.Fill the mixture into a buttered cake tin. Bake in the preheated oven at 160°C for 50-60 minutes.
