Poached bananas recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 8 yellow peeled and halved bananas
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 2 Tablespoons flour
- spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, cayenne, salt, allspice
Put fruit in a saucepan with wine and a dash of salt. Bring to a boil, cover pan and simmer on low for 25 minutes. Gently remove half of the fruit from pan, and keep warm. Blend together butter and flour and season to taste with spices. Add this, bit by bit, to banana mixture in saucepan. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes and serve over the bananas with a sprinkle of allspice on top.
