Mushroom pie recipe details
Ingredients
1 | 22 cm pie crust |
2 tbsp | butter |
500 g | mushrooms, sliced |
1 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
120 ml | single cream |
80 ml | milk |
80 ml | sour cream |
2 medium | eggs, beaten |
1 dash(es) | nutmeg, ground |
1 tbsp | fresh parsley, chopped |
120 g | Cheddar cheese, grated |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Preheat oven to 200°C.Frozen crust:Bake crust for about 10-20 minutes.
Homemade crust:Freeze the crust first, then line the crust with aluminum foil and bake it for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat and sauté mushrooms for 3-5 minutes. Add minced garlic, stir with the mushrooms for 30 seconds then remove from heat.
Beat together the eggs, sour cream, milk, and cream. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir in the grated cheese and chopped parsley.
Spread the sautéed mushrooms along the bottom of the pre-baked pie crust and pour the cheese and cream mixture over the top of the mushrooms.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until nicely browned. Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes before serving.
