Lamb stew recipe details
Ingredients
8 | lamb chops |
1 tbsp | vegetable oil |
some | mixed herbs: parsley, bay leaves, peppercorns, thyme, rosemary |
500 g | potatoes, peeled, diced |
500 g | cabbage, shredded |
12 small | onions, chopped |
1 | leek, trimmed, chopped |
200 g | peas |
fresh parsley, chopped | |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Season lamb chops with salt and pepper.Heat oil in a saucepan and brown chops on both sides. Spoon off any melted fat and add enough water to cover chops. Bring to a boil and add mixed herbs enclosed in a cheesecloth. Lower heat and simmer.
Add diced potatoes, cabbage, leek and onions. Simmer 20 minutes and then add peas.
Simmer for 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Remove the cheesecloth with the herbs. Garnish with parsley and serve.
