Irish cream ice cream recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 quart half & half
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Irish Cream Liqueur
- 3 eggs, beaten
- enough milk to bring to 1/2 gallon
This was a wonderful experiment with flavoring that I did one hot summer night. We had guests sitting on the front porch with us and lots of fresh strawberries to share. I made this flavor of ice cream by chance and now wouldn’t serve any other. We love front porch weather here at the Inn, it’s like sitting there with Aunt Bea and Andy. I heard a man on the radio say, that’s what’s wrong with our neighborhoods today, no front porches to sit on and visit with each other. The Inn takes us back to those gracious days of swinging on the front porch and just talkin’.
Blend ingredients together. Freeze in ice cream freezer according to manufacturers directions. Serve with fresh strawberries and brownies. (This freezes as a leftover very well, the liqueur causes it to stay somewhat soft.)
