Hot spiced tea recipe details
- Ingredients
- 3 gallons cold water
- 6 family-size iced tea brewing bags
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 5 cinnamon sticks
- 20 whole clove pieces
- Peel only (no pith) of 1 large orange
- Peel only (no pith) of 1 large lemon
Bring water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, and cloves to a boil in a heavy large stockpot over high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Boil 6 minutes. Remove from heat. Add tea bags and the orange and lemon zest. Cover and let steep 10 minutes. Discard tea bags. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour (up to 24 hours). Using a slotted spoon, discard whole spices and zest.
Serve hot with additional cinnamon stick for garnish. Tea will keep refrigerated up to 3 days.
