Honey crunch baked apples recipe details
Ingredients
6 large | apples, peeled and cored |
50 g | honey nut cereal |
¼ tsp | nutmeg, ground |
2 tsp | lemon juice |
7 tbsp | honey |
3 tbsp | butter, melted |
½ tsp | cinnamon |
100 ml | apple juice |
Instructions
Place the apples in a baking pan.In a bowl combine the cereal, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice and 3 tb of honey. Spoon equal amounts of the filling into each apple.
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Stir together the melted butter, the remaining 3 tb of honey and apple juice. Pour over the apples. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
Uncover and continue to bake, basting often with the pan juices until tender when pierced, for about another 30 more minutes.
Serve warm or cooled.
