Heaphy's spaghetti sauce recipe details
A meaty and very tasty sauce that only gets better the longer it simmers. Enjoyed with almost any pasta, this has been a really old family favorite.

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 1-1/2 pounds Ground Beef
- 1 pound Ground Pork
- 3 large Onions – chopped
- 1 24 ounce can of Tomato Sauce
- 1 6 ounce can of Tomato Paste
- 1 10 ounce can of Mushrooms (drained)
- 3 large Tomatoes – diced
- 4 stalks of Celery – chopped
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Crushed Chile Pepper
- 2 teaspoons Prepared Mustard
- 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
- 2 tablespoons Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon Sage
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1/4 teaspoon Rosemary
- 2 tablespoons Parsley
- 1 teaspoon Salt
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 3 hours1. In a skillet fry ground beef and pork with the chopped onions. Drain the fat from the meat and place meat in a large pot with the canned ingredients.
2. Stirring often, bring the pot to a light boil and immediately turn down to a light simmer.
3. Add remaining ingredients, cover and simmer for 3 to 4 hours – stirring occasionally.
4. Prepare your favorite pasta and load this sauce on top. Enjoy.
