Grandma Stewart’s Chocolate Sheet Cake recipe

- Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick oleo
- 1/2 cup Wessonoil
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda (dissolved in buttermilk)
- Frosting:
- 1 stick oleo
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 6 Tablespoons milk
- 1 package powdered sugar
- vanilla
- 1 small package of nuts
Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt together in a mixing bowl. Set aside. Mix oleo oil, cocoa and water in pan, then bring to a boil. When this mixture comes to a boil, pour over flour and sugar mixture. Then to all, add eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, and baking soda. Mix well.
Pour in 12 x 18-inch cookie sheet with sides on it. Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.
Frosting:5 minutes before cake is ready to come out of the oven, mix oleo, cocoa, and milk. Bring to a boil. Pour over 1 package powdered sugar, vanilla, and a small package of nuts. Put on cake as soon as it comes out of oven.
