Forever favorite fudge frosting recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup Hershey’scocoa
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3 cups confectioners sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Grandma “Phoenia” Jeffries taught me to make this frosting when I was about 10 years old. I have always liked to bake and started at a very young age. My family says “If it isn’t chocolate, it isn’t dessert!” This is delicious chocolate frosting. Everyone fights to “lick” the pan. Tastes like fudge!
Melt butter in saucepan; stir in cocoa until smooth. Add milk and mix until smooth. (Keep heat LOW to avoid scorching.) Remove from heat and add sugar a little at a time, working quickly, beating until smooth and glossy. Add vanilla. Frost cake while warm. Frosting sets up fast and makes a glazed-look shiny frosting. (Frosts two layers or 1 sheetcake.)
