Elderberry and plum jam recipe details
Ingredients
1 kg | elderberries |
300 g | plums, halved and stones removed |
pulp of a vanilla pod | |
½ tsp | ground cinnamon |
3 tbsp | rum |
1 kg | jam sugar |
Instructions
Cook the elderberries in water for 10-12 minutes, then strain through a sieve. Mix together the elderberry juice and the plums. Purée the mixture and measure the amount in a measuring jug.Pour the purée into a saucepan and add the same amount of sugar. Stir in the cinnamon and vanilla and bring to a boil. Cook for 4-5 minutes. Stir in the rum.
Pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal. Store at a dark cool place.
