This is a good bread-dipping oil. It is guaranteed to spice things up a notch, especially if you use it while frying Jen’s “Basic Crepes” (recipie found at allrecipies.com)!

Ingredients

Serves: 4

• 1/2 cup virgin olive oil
• 1 teaspoon dried hot pepper
• 1 small jalapeño (optional garnish)

Preparation method

Prep: 6 mins | Cook: 10 mins

1. Heat olive oil in medium frying pan over low to medium heat, but do not allow to sizzle or boil.
2. Stir in hot pepper. You may substitute hot pepper with black pepper, or your favorite hot spice.
3. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool for at least five minutes before pouring into a heat-safe bowl. Add jalapeño untouched as garnish.
4. To make oil less spicy, remove jalapeño after having let mixture sit overnight, or add more extra virgin olive oil.
