Classic tiramisu recipe details
Ingredients
750 g | mascarpone cheese |
4 large | eggs, separated |
80 g | sugar |
1 tbsp | vanilla |
300 ml | espresso, freshly brewed |
400 g | Ladyfingers |
unsweetened cocoa powder |
Instructions
Seperate the eggs: yolks in one bowl, whites in another.Add half of the sugar into the egg whites and beat until smooth and creamy.
Add the remaining sugar with the yolks and beat until mixture is thick and pale. Then add the mascarpone and vanilla to the yolk mixture and mix thoroughly.
Take a spoon and mix the yolk and mascarpone mixture with the egg whites. Do not use a mixer!
Prepare the espresso and set aside.
Place a large dessert bowl in front of you and layer the bottom of the bowl with the ladyfingers. Take a spoon and sprinkle the espresso over the biscuits, making sure that they are well soaked with enough espresso.
Spoon the mascarpone cream over the biscuits.
Place a second layer of ladyfingers onto the mascarpone mixture and sprinkle again with the remaining espresso. Then spoon the second and last layer of mascarpone onto the biscuits.
Cover the dish with tin foil and place in fridge for at least 4-6 hours before serving.
Sprinkle with cocoa powder before serving.
