Cinnamon baked apples recipe details
- Ingredients
- Macintosh apples
- Cinnamon-sugar mixture
- Melted butter or margarine
- Chopped walnuts
- Sweetened dried cranberries
Core the apples. Peel them, leaving the skin on the bottom third of the apple. Toss the walnuts and cranberries in a little melted butter and then in the cinnamon mixture. Place the apples in a shallow baking pan. Fill the hollow cores with the cranberry walnut mixture. Brush butter on the tops of the apples and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar. Add water to cover the bottom of the pan to 1/4-inch depth. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the apples. Insert a toothpick to make sure the apple is soft throughout.
