Chocolate truffles recipe details
Ingredients
250 g | bittersweet chocolate, 60& cacao or higher, chopped into small pieces |
120 ml | wipping cream |
1 tsp | vanilla extract |
Optional flavourings: | |
2 tbsp | Amaretto |
1 tsp | almond extract |
Truffle coatings: | |
cocoa powder | |
walnuts, finely chopped | |
almonds, finely chopped |
Instructions
In a small saucepan bring the cream to a simmer.If you are using the amaretto or almond flavourings, stir it in with the cream and ignore vanilla in the next step.
Place the chocolate in a separate bowl. Pour the cream over the chocolate, add the vanilla, and allow to stand for a few minutes then stir until smooth.
Allow to cool and then place in the refrigerator for at least two hours.
With a teaspoon scoop out balls of the chocolate mixture. Then quickly roll in your hands as it will melt from the heat of your hands and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in the refrigerator overnight.
Coat with cocoa powder or chopped nuts and serve.
