Carrot stuffed onions recipe details
Ingredients
4 large | onions |
4 large | carrots |
1 tbsp | butter |
300 ml | White Sauce |
200 g | bread crumbs |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Peel the oniond and then boil the onions until tender. Scoop out the centres carefully.Cook the carrots and cut into small pieces.
Dip carrot pieces into melted butter, season with salt and pepper and then mix them with the scraped out onion pieces.
Place the whole onions into a buttered ovenproof dish. Fill onions with the carrot-onion mixture and pour over the white sauce.
Sprinkle with the breadcrumbs and dot with a few bits of butter.
Bake at 180°C for 25 minutes, until the breadcrumbs start to get brown.
