- Ingredients
- 1-1/4 cups butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and set aside. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt, then gradually blend in creamed mixture. Add nuts and chocolate. Drop batter by teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheets. (Do not use insulated cookie sheets!) Bake in a 350-degree oven for 8 to 9 minutes. Do not overbake. Cookies will be soft. (They puff while baking and flatten when cooled.) Cool on cookie sheets until set, about five minutes. Remove to cooling racks.
Yield:about 4 dozen.
