Buttermilk substitute recipe details
Ingredients
1 tbsp | lemon juice, white wine vinegar or cider vinegar |
225 ml | milk, full fat |
Instructions
If you have a liquid measure with a capacity of 250-350ml graduated in 5, 10 or 20ml divisions, use it; otherwise use a one cup measure.With the liquid measure add the vinegar or lemon juice and add milk to make 240ml.
With a cup measure, fill the 1 cup measure and pour contents into a bowl. Remove 1 tbsp of milk and add the vinegar or lemon juice.
Allow to stand for about 5 minutes; the milk will start to curdle. Use as much as required in your recipe. Store refrigerated for up to 24 hours if necessary.
