Buttered Cranberry Punch recipe

|1.2 l||pineapple juice|
|1.2 l||cranberry juice|
|200 g||brown sugar|
|450 ml||cranberry sauce|
|1 tsp||whole cloves|
|450 ml||vodka, optional|
In a large saucepan combine the juices, brown sugar, cranberry sauce and water. Tie the whole cloves and cinnamon sticks in cheesecloth and add to the pot. Bring to a quick boil, then reduce heat and leave to simmer for 1 hour or longer.
Just before serving, stir in the vodka and the butter. The butter will float on top and may need to be replenished from time to time. You can also add a dot of butter into each mug before serving.
Serve in large mugs.
