Butter balls recipe details
This is our family’s favorite Christmas cookie recipe from my wife’s grandmother’s collection of recipes. These are super easy to make with or without nuts… Plan on making 2 or more batches the first time, they won’t last long!

Ingredients
Serves: 24- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup ground nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus more for rolling
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 45 mins | Extra time: 1 hour, cooling1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
2. In a bowl, combine all ingredients in order and mix until smooth.
3. With your hands, roll dough into small bite-size balls (the size of a quarter or large marble). Place evenly spaced on an ungreased baking pan or on parchment paper and bake for 45 minutes.
4. Remove from oven and roll cookies in powdered sugar while still warm. When completely cool, roll in powdered sugar again.
