My mother made this pie all of my life. It’s one of those desserts that just make you feel good. And, for me, it brings back so many wonderful memories!

Ingredients
Serves: 12- 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie shells
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 4 tablespoons flour (not heaping)
- 4 egg yolks
- 4 cups milk
- a pinch of salt
- 4 egg whites
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 30 mins | Extra time: 20 mins1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
2. Cook the crusts until lightly browned, and let cool. Mix together the sugar, cocoa, flour, egg yolks, milk and salt, and cook on top of the stove until thickened, stirring constantly. Pour into the crusts. Beat the egg whites and put them on top of the pie. Set in the oven until brown.
