Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1/2 cup flour
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 (7 ounce) bone-in pork chops
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
Preparation method
Prep: 25 mins | Cook: 25 mins1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
2. Combine flour with salt and pepper in a shallow pie pan. Coat pork chops in mixture.
3. Melt butter in a large skillet and set over medium heat. Add pork chops and cook just until both sides are browned, then transfer to a baking dish.
4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F.
5. While pork bakes: pour vinegar into a saucepan and set over high heat. When vinegar boils, turn heat down to low and stir in maple syrup. Place a lid on the pan. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
6. In a separate small bowl, whisk cornstarch together with water. Stir into the saucepan and cook for 2 minutes to thicken.
7. Preheat broiler. Set pork chops on a broiler pan and pat with brown sugar, then place 4 inches away from the flame for about 2 minutes to melt sugar.
8. Serve pork chops with sauce spooned over each.
