Ingredients
1 pack(s) | frozen berries |
5 tbsp | sugar |
125 ml | rum |
1 bottle(s) | red wine |
¼ l | cherry juice |
5 piece(s) | cardamom |
2 stick(s) | cinnamon or one |
10 | cloves |
2 | bags of fruit tea |
3 tbsp | honey |
Instructions
Marinate the berries with 2 tablespoons of sugar and the rum and set aside for 1 hour. Then heat the remaining sugar in a large pot and lightly allow to caramelise. Deglaze with the red wine and the cherry juice. Add the cardamom, cinnamon stick and cloves and allow to simmer for some time.
Pour ½ litre of water in the pot, add the two tea bags and let steep for a while. Add the tea to the red wine and cherry juice mixture. Remove the pot from the heat and season to taste with honey and a good lacing of rum.
Spoon in each glass at least a spoonful of the marinated berries and then fill up with the hot punch. Be careful not spooning in the condiments as well.
Advice:
The berry punch gets even tangier, when prepared a few hours before serving, when the condiments may brew a bit longer. Before serving, just reheat once more.
