Beef tea recipe details
Ingredients
1 ½ lb | lean beef |
1 ½ pint(s) | cold water |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
1 pinch(es) | mace |
1 slice(s) | white onion |
1 | clove |
Instructions
Chop the beef, removing the fat, into small pieces and place this in a strong glass jar such as a kilner jar. Add onion and the seasonings and pour over the cold water.Seal the jar and place in a pan of water and bring this to a gentle simmer. Maintain the sealed jar in the water, topping up the pan with boiling water if it starts to get low, for a period of 3 to 4 hours.
When complete, leave to cool, filter and serve the liquid hot or cold.
