Beef Pot Pie recipe
|900 g||beef round steak|
|3||potatoes, peeled and sliced|
|1 large||onion, thinly sliced|
|For the Biscuit Topping.|
|3 tsp||baking powder|
Preparing the beef pie:
Place steak in crock-pot. Combine flour, salt and pepper and toss with steak to coat thoroughly. Stir in remaining ingredients except biscuit topping and mix. Cover and let cook on low temperature for 7 to 10 hours.
One hour before serving, remove meat and vegetables from crock-pot and pour into shallow baking dish. Preheat oven to 200°C. Cover meat mixture with Biscuit Topping and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
Preparing the Biscuit Topping:
Mix all dry ingredients. Add shortening when mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Add milk and stir well. Pat out on floured boarda and roll out to cover baking dish.
