Beach rose strata recipe details
- Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- Two 10-ounce packages frozen chopped spinach
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 15 eggs
- 2-1/2 cups milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Dash of Mrs. Dashseasoning or other favorite spices
- Sour cream
- Parmesan cheese
This is an extremely popular breakfast dish with our guests. You may add ham or other vegetables for variation.
Tear or cut the bread into small pieces and layer on the bottom of a greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Layer with onion, spinach, and cheese (other vegetables like mushrooms can also be used). Beat the eggs with the milk and spices until frothy. Pour over the mixture in the pan, cover with foil, and refrigerate overnight.
Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven until the eggs are almost set, approximately 50 minutes. Uncover and spread with a layer of sour cream and Parmesan cheese and bake another 10 to 15 minutes.
