Banana rice recipe details
Ingredients
25 g | butter |
120 g | short grain rice |
600 ml | milk |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
1 pack(s) | vanilla sugar |
2 | ripe bananas, diced |
250 g | fresh strawberries, hulled |

Instructions
Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add 120ml of water, bring to a boil and add the rice. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Add the milk, bring to the boil again and cook for another 20 minutes or until the rice is very soft and the milk soaked up. Add a pinch of salt and the vanilla sugar. Fold the bananas in the rice.Puree the strawberries in a blender. Leave the strawberry sauce plain or season to taste with lemon juice and sugar.
Serve the banana rice with the strawberry sauce.
Note:
Use overripe bananas for this recipe, so you get rid of leftovers and they are so sweet that you don’t need to sweeten the rice with more sugar.
