Banana crumble recipe details
Ingredients
10 | bananas |
2 | bars of dark chocolate, e.g. 74% cocoa |
300 g | normal flour |
175 g | brown sugar (Demerara) |
200 g | butter |
vanilla ice-cream or double cream to serve |
Instructions
Peel the bananas and cut into chunks. Break the bars of chocolate into small pieces. Put both into an ovenproof dish and mix well. Push down slightly and gently.In another bowl, mix the flour with the brown sugar and butter. Mix well with your hands until the mixture starts to crumble. Cover the the banana-chocolate mix with the crumble topping and bake in a pre-heated oven for approx 20 minutes at 180 degrees – or until the golden brown.
Serve hot with a generous dollop of good vanilla ice-cream. Alternatively serve with double cream.
This is quite a hefty and filling pudding and not for the faint-hearted, best served on a very cold day. Pure soul food!
