Asparagus turnovers recipe details
Ingredients
12 stalk(s) | asparagus, woody ends removed |
1 pinch(es) | sugar |
salt | |
450 g | ready rolled out puff pastry |
2 | eggs |
4 slice(s) | ham |
4 slice(s) | Gouda cheese |
2 tbsp | oil |
1 tbsp | sesame seeds |
Instructions
Cook the asparagus in salted water with a pinch of sugar for 8 minutes, then drain.Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4 equal rectangles. Beat the eggs in a bowl and brush the pastry with egg.
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Place onto each sheet of pastry a slice of ham, a slice of cheese and 3 asparagus spears. Turn over the pastry and press the edges firmly together. Brush with the remaining egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
