Ingredients
200 g | flour |
2 tsp | baking powder |
½ tsp | salt |
1 medium | egg, beaten |
1 tbsp | vegetable shortening, melted |
180 ml | milk |
3 | apples, peeled, cored, cut into slices |
3 tbsp | sugar |
1 | fresh lemon juice |
powdered sugar, for garnish |
Instructions
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar and lemon juice over apples.
Sift flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt into bowl. In another bowl combine milk to well beaten egg. Slowly combine both mixtures, beating thoroughly, then add vegetable shortening.
Cover apple slices with batter and drop them into plenty of vegetable shortening. Fry for 4-5 minutes.
Drain and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
