Ingredients
1-1/2 cups shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup molasses
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons ginger
2 teaspoons cloves
2 teaspoons baking soda
Instructions:

Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs, and molasses. Add remaining ingredients. Roll into 1-inch balls and dip in sugar. Arrange on ungreased baking sheet. Do not press down. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes.

Yield: 50 to 60
