Hot bean compote recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | green beans, drained |
500 g | wax bean, drained |
250 g | red Kidney beans |
4 slice(s) | bacon |
100 g | sugar |
1 tbsp | cornstarch |
180 ml | vinegar |
1 medium | onion, sliced |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet and drain on paper towel.Combine bacon drippings, sugar and cornstarch. Blend well. Season with salt, pepper and add vinegar.
Bring mixture to a boil and cook until it thickens. Stir in onion and drained beans. Cover and bring to a simmer over low. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve with bacon crumbled on top.
