Honey champagne fondue recipe details
Ingredients
450 g | Gruyere cheese, grated |
4 tsp | cornstarch |
1 tsp | dry mustard |
1 tbsp | butter |
1 | onion, finely chopped |
1 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
260 ml | dry champagne |
50 g | honey |
2 tbsp | lemon juice |
Instructions
Combine cheese, cornstarch and dry mustard and mix well to coat. Set aside.In a heavy pan or fondue pot, over medium heat, melt butter. Sauté shallot and garlic until soft, 2-3 minutes. Add champagne and bring to a boil.
Gradually add cheese mixture, a little at a time, stirring constantly, until cheese melts.
Stir in honey and lemon juice and continue to simmer 2-3 minutes more.
Dipping suggestions:Crusty bread cubes, Granny Smith apple slices, carrots
