Grandma todd's black chocolate cake recipe details
- Ingredients
- 4 squares chocolate
- 2 cups hot water
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 rounded Tablespoons Crisco shortening
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
Grease and flour a 8 x 12-inch pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Ready your spatula.
Melt chocolate in hot water and allow it to cool. Then mix sugar with solid Crisco, salt, eggs and vanilla. Give it a good stir.
Add flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Add cooled chocolate and water.
Put in pan and bake 45 to 55 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
