Chocolate chips almond cake details
INGREDIENTS:175g butter/margarine
160g caster sugar
3 large eggs
225g all-purpose flour, sifted
2 tsp baking powder. sifted with all-purpose flour
40g ground almonds
2 tbsp milk
100g chocolate chips, coated with flour
25g flaked almonds, coated with flour
METHOD:
- Preheat oven at 180 deg C. Prepare a greased 8 inch cake tin.
- Cream together the butter/margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well between each addition.
- Fold in the flour, baking powder, ground almond and milk into cake batter.
- Finally, fold in chocolate chips and flaked almonds.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-55 minutes until golden brown and springy to touch.
- Leave to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before turning the cake onto a wire rack to finish cooling.
