Chetco river congo bars recipe details
- Ingredients
- 2/3 cup butter, melted and cooled
- 1 pound brown sugar (light or dark)
- 3 eggs
- 2-3/4 cups flour
- 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips or pieces
- 1 cup hazelnuts (or your favorite)
I think of these as brown sugar brownies, only better!
Blend butter, brown sugar, and eggs well. Add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix well. Add chocolate and nuts.
Spread in 10 x 15 x 1-inch pan (dough will be sticky). Bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes. Cut while warm (use a pizza cutter). Freezes well.
