Bran muffins with sesame seed recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1-1/2 cups bran cereal
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins
- extra honey and sesame seeds
Mix milk and bran cereal together and soak overnight.
Combine shortening, brown sugar, honey, and eggs. Then add milk and bran. In separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and raisins. Add dry to liquid ingredients. Stir just to mix well. Spray 18 muffin cups with a non-stick coating. Into each cup, place 1 teaspoon honey and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Add batter until each cup is two thirds full. Bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
