Baked rice with cheese and tomato sauce recipe details
Ingredients
3 tbsp butter |
3 tbsp flour |
300 ml tomato juice |
¼ tsp dry mustard |
500 g rice, cooked |
90 g Cheddar cheese |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Melt butter in a skillet over low heat.
Stir in flour, tomato juice, salt and pepper and mustard.
Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
Arrange a layer of rice in a greased baking dish. Spoon sauce over rice and sprinkle with cheese. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used up.
Preheat oven to 180°C. Bake for 30 minutes, or until bubbly. Check on progress often.
